Yubikiri

Hi guys, do you know yubikiri?
May be some of you dont know about this term.
Yup, okay, let me briefly explain about this.

Yubikiri, this is Japanese word (yubi : pinkie, kiri : cut) so cut pinkie finger.
There was origin story about yubikiri it self.
do you really want to know?
if you do not want to know, please skip out from this blog hehehehhehehe

if you still keep on reading, okay
I would tell you more :D

Long time ago in Japan, there was a gang, they have "women" as their product, so you can pay some money to the gang then you can date with lady that you want. Even, if you are rich man, you can buy her. ( do not feel so bad, may be at that time there was no democracy ).

By the time, it could not be deny that a woman fall in love with her "guess". Luckily, if the "guess" is rich, so he could buy the woman. But, this is life, always created both "good" or "bad".

Should I tell you more about the story?????
hmmm okay, please do not be that sad after read the story.

Unluckily, there was a woman fall in love to a poor guy. It would be so hard to them. The guy could not buy the woman who beloved. They could not be a couple ever. Do you guys know how does it feel? (hurt for sure).
to show how a great love she was, the woman did "yubikiri" and gave the pinkie finger to the guy who beloved, and the guy also did the same.

do you know what the woman said????
"Nothing that I can do for you, we can not be a nice couple, to show how much I love you, please keep my pinkie anywhere you go. Yup, I just can do this, so please keep it"

They did it, to show that they were really fall in love, they did it for their faith.
yup, Love is very strong, so please be faithful to your love. Because of love, the painful of yubikiri could be heal,,,

yup this is love.....

and with love, please keep your love purely and it would be nice story in the future :)

It is called team work (Party time)

Hi guys, have you ever seen such a nice team work like us?
By the way, this is not because we are so that kind, but this is because we have strict Professor.
He could make us so that solid team. To be true, everybody is different, not every single idea to be agreed, but this is us, always try to the best under strict Professor, and I am proud to be this team work :)

This is our picture when we attended Indonesia-Japan party at Haebaru Hall, Okinawa, Japan.
Everybody had enthusiastic to attend this party on June 29th, 2013. Actually they wanted to taste my cooking (Telur Balado : egg with chili sauce and several Indonesian traditional spices). As we know, that Japanese do not like spicy food, they felt so freaking spicy after tasting my cooking ( Gomen ne ).

Bali dance was being danced by Japanese who study Bali culture (do not be mistaken, Bali is one of Indonesia's territories)

Topeng Kelana Dance (Bahasa Indonesia : Tari topeng kelana) this dance was presented by Indonesian, this dance originally from West Java, Indonesia.

Japanese children choral group was singing to date Japanese song (Totoro) and traditional Okinawan Song. Actually, Okinawan has their own vernacular language, but it become blunt by the time. Okinawan youth generation do not use their own vernacular language, they use Japanese national language.

And,,, walah, he is my best Sensei ever. He is a great Professor, I am lucky to be his student (thanks God). Unforgetting experience to have Sensei like him. (Japanese language, Sensei : Professor, Teacher, but basically is person who was born before another).

Ryukyu Kingdom

In this time, I would like to explain the history of The Ryukyu Kingdom briefly.

The Ryukyu Kingdom is the name of Okinawa before merged with Japan. The first mention of the word Ryukyu was written in the "Book of Sui".

The Ryukyu Kingdom is surrounded by ocean (East China Sea which is relatively close to Japan, China and South-East Asia and North pacific ocean). Because its strategic position, the Ryukyu Kingdom became a prosperous trading nation. Many "Gusukus" (similar to castle) were constructed. The Ryukyu Kingdom it self had a tributary relationship with the Chinese Empire starting 15th century.

One of Castles that still exist is Shuri Castle (Shuri-Jo). Actually, this castle had been constructed after broken by World War II. This is Shuri Castle's replication, but still I got the chemistry when I visited this Castle at January 1st, 2013. Many people visited, just to remember their ancestor and their heroic memorial.

This picture describes the main Castle of Shuri Castle, the King Place

This is the replication when Ryukyus' Ministers were gathering (the polite way that they were doing to regard their King, for additional information : the name of King is "Sho", it likes family name)

The big bell that they were using (as media to give attention or something) it was conventional. Due to the size, it could be heard by people who stayed so far from main castle)

This monument showing spring time (usually in spring there are so many flowers blossom)

This monument showing "Lake place" (I am not sure, what the function is, but actually the lake is very small, and clear water)

Okinawan dance to celebrate new year. (Looks like Chinese dance, "Barongsai")

Okinawan traditional dance (It was slow dance and graceful, may be to describe the Kingdom people character)

And, interestingly, when I was seeing the dance, this bird took my attention, in front of a lot of people, he stayed calmly, and I like him so much, he did not feel afraid at all, and people did not disturb him. It was nice tolerance between two kinds of living things.

Before you arrived at Shuri Castle, your eyes will be pampered with some nice flowers live in the side of road, various in color and of course it is clean road.

Continuing the Okinawa history. After joining to Japan in 1972, The Ryukyu Kingdom changed to be Okinawa Prefecture. Okinawa is largely composed by coral, and rainwater filtering through that coral has given the island many caves. Okinawa has been known as a beautiful beach and it has clean beach, good under water environment as well.

For Education, University of the Ryukyus has been known as a national university which has excellent education in Marine Science.

Tanaka's Lab (Insect edition)

As usual,
I come to my amazing lab. Do you know why I call an "Amazing" Lab?, Yup the answer is I can find anything which those I could not find in anywhere else (maybe I am not traveler, it's meant I do not have many experiences about new place, so pardon me :)).
And now, summer season has come to Okinawa, it is really hot, supposed to be hotter than Lampung where I lived (I am going to missing Lampung, Indonesia). Actually this is my first time to get this experience. Any way, in this summer, I find many unique insect and I do not know what their species are.
Yup, this is small insect, black, and I found it near chiller, may be we can find such insect in tropical country.
These insect has long antenna, the antenna almost 3 times its body in length, I found it at Lab door, actually I do not know what he doing is. May be he wanted to meet me and asked me to take his picture.
Cannibal hermit crab in our marine artificial life, I and Ka Idam (my "senpai", Senpai was taken from Japanese, it is meant Senior or older brother, and we use this because we regard someone older) surprised when we realized that bigger hermit crab ate smaller hermit crab (poor blue hermit crab), we were so sad, we then regretted not to feed them on time.
Air plane butterfly (the way I called her), I found it one day morning at my student room. (By the way, that mask is also interesting, that mask is in front of my desk, Tomura Senpai bought it. But the main theme is butterfly, so I blurred the unimportant things)
And.......This is it, the environment which is surrounding my Lab, like a jungle, greenish, and I could hear insect sounds, bird sounds, also sometime I find some bets sleeping, walah I am enjoying my every single sec working at Tanaka's lab.

This is just brief story about insect surrounding Tanaka's lab, many more animals live here, I can not wait to find another animal, another story and write it in my blog, share then to you guys :)

Okinawa

This island makes me fall in love with nature. I can find clear beach, kind peoples, strange language, and the most interesting is Thypoon which I can't find in anywhere else (actually this is my first time to leave my country, Indonesia). God gives me chance to come here, to show me how a great creator he is. Thank you God.
